Category: Accessible Games
hey.
does anyone play spoonbill games (i think that's what they are called...) if so what are they like?
heard about it yesterday and would like your opinions on it
I have played many of their games... I enjoy Hearts, so that's the one I used to play the most. The only real drawback is that they are not online games so you have to play with bots, and not other players... but they are fun!
Hmmm, never heard of these before. what other games do they have besides Hearts? May have to google this and find out more. thanks for posting.
i'd be interested in knowing what other games their are too!
actually i don't even know what hearts is!
They also had UNO.
had?. did they get rid of it?
If you go to:
http://www.omninet.net.au/~irhumph/bggames.htm
You'll see all the games they have.
Hope this helps. You have to request the games by Email, so sometimes it takes a few days to receive them. If anyone's in a rush to get them, I have them all.. I can' post them if you let me know.
Enjoy
Basically, they are a set of card/dice games that are lightweight and completely accessible. They even have pictures, so fully sighted players can play, although I don't think they can play with you. They use SAPI for output, run only on windows, and are extremely detailed. You should go to the website, which I indeed have to do to get a few more; I've been using the same three (hearts, cribbage, and boggle) for the past six years and probably should get a few more of them.
Oh yeah, they have way more than those 3 now. they have a whole bunch of different solitaire games, chess, uno, and some others I can't remember off the top of my head. There were 6 new games released just last week, actually. It's always nice when a developer releases a whole bunch of new titles at the same time. Sort of like what Draconus is doing now, having come back from their long hiatus. I'm just waiting for Windows versions of the two titles they released so far.
Oh, I know they had those. I just haven't gotten them. One reason is I hate solitaire, so don't want the roughly ten types of solitaire. I guess I just kept forgetting to get new games.
Yeah, I know what you mean. I don't understand all those different types of solitaire myself. The new poker solitaire is pretty cool, though. It's like the Poker Squares game that that guy who used to develop games on the site gamesfortheblind.com sold. sorry, I can't remember his name. My point is that it's one of the few solitaire games that doesn't confuse the hell out of me, and that I actually find fun.
